Welcome to apply for the All-English MA Program in Anthropology at East China Normal University (ECNU), Shanghai!
A two-year all-English MA program in anthropology is now available at ECNU. The deadline for application is March 31, 2017. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and should possess a BA degree in anthropology or closely related field. There is no requirement on Chinese language.
Scholarship can be applied for online. The generous scholarship covers tuition fee, accommodation on campus, a comprehensive medical insurance, basic learning materials, besides a monthly living allowance (about RMB 3,000 yuan/month).
The program consists of four core courses, four optional courses, a 6-month fieldwork, and a MA thesis. The research interests of faculty members cover two areas: socio-cultural anthropology in general and applied anthropology, concentrating particularly on religion, money/economy, food, ethnobotany, visual culture, and ethnic minorities in China.
